Previously called Rex Trailer’s Ranch House when it debuted in Philadelphia, the live, three-hour show is produced by WBZ and airs on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Born and raised in Texas, Trailer learned to ride, rope, shoot, and play the guitar. After joining the rodeo circuit, he and was discovered by Gabby Hayes while performing at Madison Square Garden in 1949. A resident of Sudbury, Trailer dies while on vacation in Florida on January 9, 2013. Boomtown continues on WBZ until 1974, then is syndicated and airs on Channel 25 until 1976.
